Happy 5th Birthday Chloe! DC Cupcakes party

Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 1-3 We hosted family and friends for a DC Cupcake party at our house. Just like last years Cotton Candy Carnival, it was a rainy forecast. We hurried up the pinata and then the downpour started. Chloe was all smiles as she waited for her friends to come over. We invited 5 friends, all the grandparents, Aunt Jill and Landry.

We made aprons with the girls names on them, hung all of our pennants and baked 64 cupcakes, (thanks mom!) We put on aprons and made cupcake headbands with yarn covered styrofoam balls but I didn't get any pics of that.

It took several swings by each girl and all of the adults but we finally broke the cupcake pinata

Next we came inside, washed hands and each girl picked 6 cupcakes to decorate and take home. Wow they really went to town with the sprinkles! Thanks Oma for your amazing supply! We boxed up their decorated cupcakes and took our time gettting the stickers unstuck to seal up the bakery boxes I ordered.

Chloe's creation, using almost every sprinkle. Mimi said her's was the Best in Show. We gave the girls one more cupcake to decorate and eat as we sang and Chloe blew out her candle.

 

Next was present opening time! Look at that cute/excited face. She has always been the best present getter.

 

We had two rounds of Limbo, I think Lily took the prize on that one, she's very bendy!

The last activity was the photobooth wall with the cute backdrop and the funny props

Chloe's first day of preschool

Chloe started her last year of preschool yesterday. She was awake at 6:00, ready to put her clothes on and go. I convinced her to wait a little bit, eat breakfast and watch a little Disney Jr. I dropped Chloe off at her class with Ms Deichert, she hung up her backpack took one picture with her teacher for me and then got right to work. Chloe loves school and I hope she always will.

My Beautiful "Older 4 yr Old" that's what they call her class. She'll be 5 in October and I can't believe how time flies.

 One more shot before I had to hold the camera, my phone, her back pack and the present so she could swing for a minute. After I dropped Chloe off I drove to Jimmy's office to give him her car seat. He would be picking her up from school while I was in Weatherford. After Jimmy's office I followed my google maps directions to Lindsey's house to take a few more pictures of baby Carter. After our little photo shoot I drove to Weatherford stopping first at my folks house to fix my make up and change my clothes. Then I drove across town to Couts Methodist Church to attend the funeral of a great lady. My friend Diane's Grandmother, Jean Guess. It was a great service made better by Diane's eulogy. I have no idea how she stood in front of the crowd and read what she wrote about Grandmama. It was genuine and personal, and funny. Sitting in the church alone before the family filled in I remembered Ms Guess in my own way as I replayed in my mind all the times I saw her as a child. Coming around the corner to their kitchen and seeing her sitting at the island talking to Vicki, greeting me like it was me she came to see and not her precious family. She was a great cook always bringing peach fried pies. I loved the way she talked, country and slow with so many sweet words. She lived a great life and I know when I see her again she will greet me the way she always has, and maybe with a few peach pies.

Lindsey and Brian welcomed Baby Carter last night at 6:54 pm. She was a champ and went to the hospital at a 9! The epidural slowed things down a bit and after a long day of labor and 3 hours of pushing, Carter William came out. Chloe and I went to see him this afternoon and goodness gracious, HE IS CUTE! 6 pounds 13 ounces and I think Sandy said he was 21 inches long but I was holding a bundle of wrinkly pink arms and legs and I couldn't really concentrate.

 I made a little Carter's first day sign in honor of his arrival on the first day of school around here. He's a back to school bundle!

 

 Chloe wore her waitress outfit. I suggested scrubs since we were going to the hospital but she countered that since we were bringing cupcakes she should really wear the waitress outfit. I can't argue with that logic. Thanks so much for seeing us when we popped in! I felt bad and wrong to see him before his real Aunt...but I had to represent for Mimi and Daddo and Julie. And as it is the last week before Chloe starts school we were looking for a few things to do. We would have visited total strangers with their new babies but they wouldn't have been this cute!
